The first edition of this congress previous organised as a Summer conference, will be held on 2-5 July 2024 in Belfast (Ireland).

The Society’s conferences bring together a global audience from a diverse range of disciplines within the field, including academics, students, HCPs, industry, freelancers, and policy leaders.

Topic of the congress:

The theme of these edition will be “new data – focused approaches and challenges”.

The aim is to provide an overview of the diversity of the data collected and used within the field of nutrition science and how analysis of this data has and can be used to progress the discipline.

EuroFIR Session: Balancing the Scale – Micronutrient deficiency and protein quality in European diets

In this comprehensive 75-minute session, we will delve into critical aspects of food composition, focusing on two prevalent issues in Europe: micronutrient deficiencies and the significance of protein quality. We will begin with an overarching view of food composition data, identifying key challenges and opportunities. Following this, the session will explore in-depth micronutrient deficiencies across different demographics and regions within Europe, and the essential role of protein quality in enhancing dietary patterns for better health outcomes. The session aims to equip delegates with the latest research findings, practical strategies for improvement, and an interactive platform for discussion on implementing these strategies in various settings.
